The restorative effect of green landscape on brain fatigue has been widely confirmed, however, winter cities have the particularity of lack of green resources and the shift of main activity places to indoor in winter. Therefore, it is critical to explore whether the winter landscape has a recovery effect on brain fatigue. This study performed random controlled experiments with four settings of indoor and outdoor, green, and non-green environments. The students' perceived evaluation of the experimental settings was obtained through the self-evaluation questionnaire and perceived restorativeness scale, and the restorative effects, environmental restorative characteristics, and individual characteristics were quantified. The results confirmed that the restorative experience can also be obtained indoors in winter, and the non-green landscape can make up for the restorative environment of the university campus in winter cities, and provided a new perspective for creating a healthy campus environment. Finally, this paper puts forward the application of campus landscape design in winter Cities to promote the recovery of brain fatigue, which has guiding significance for the construction of a restorative campus landscape.
